A grand all-day brasserie in the heart of Rotterdam — 200 covers, three distinct zones, and a reputation to maintain from morning coffee to late-night cocktails.
Challenge
The team spent hours each week building Spotify playlists manually. The music often felt generic, and transitions between service periods were jarring — the same upbeat afternoon playlist still running at 10pm.
Approach
We built a time-aware sound programme that shifts automatically with the rhythm of the day — understated and warm for the breakfast crowd, more focused and dynamic through lunch, and gradually deeper into the evening. Zero manual effort required.
Result
The kitchen team noticed the difference first — a calmer afternoon service. Guest feedback improved. The owner now describes the music as 'something guests feel but never think about', which is exactly the point.
